Definitions

"We", "us" or "the company" means Direct LED UK

"You", "the customer" or "the buyer" means the person, company or entity contracting to purchase the goods.

"The goods" are the items that you order from us as specified by our order acknowledgement and on our invoice.

Order Acceptance

We can receive orders via the company's web site, by phone, fax, mail or e-mail using the contact methods published on our web site or in other publicity materials. We reserve the right to refuse to accept orders or to require additional confirmation at our discretion. We acknowledge receipt of your orders via an appropriate communication: For example, web-based orders are acknowledged by e-mail, telephone orders are acknowledged verbally at time of order. Orders placed by telephone are accepted when the order is placed and a contract of sale then exists between us and you from that time. If orders are placed by fax, by mail or via our web site, no contract exists between you and the company until our official invoice has been issued.

Refunds

If we acknowledge an order but, for some reason outside our control, we are unable to complete the transaction within 28 days then any payment made will be refunded immediately if you ask us to do so. Refunds due against returned goods will be paid as soon as the returned goods are received by us, subject to the goods being received in unused, undamaged condition in their original packaging.

Pricing

We endeavour to ensure that all published prices are correct; however we reserve the right to change prices without notice and not to accept orders at prices that have been quoted in error. Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and unless specifically stated are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

Payment

Payment is accepted in pounds sterling by cheque with order (made payable to "Direct LED UK") or by most major credit or debit cards as detailed on our web site at time of order. Payments may also be made by credit card (via our web site only) in US dollars or Euros. Large business customers may be offered credit facilities at our discretion and subject to appropriate checks and references. Interest at 3% per annum over the Lloyds TSB base rate, together with any expenses incurred in collecting payments, will be added to the invoiced prices on any overdue accounts.

Delivery

We aim to despatch orders within 48 hours of receipt, subject to stock availability, but please allow up to a maximum of 28 days for delivery. Orders are delivered by the most appropriate method, usually 1st class post, parcel post or courier. If any delays occur, we will endeavour to keep you informed. If delivery is delayed beyond 28 days, we will always give you the option of receiving a full refund of any payments that you have made.

Risk

Delivery is in Warrington Cheshire and risk passes to the customer on delivery.

Returns

Returns will only be accepted with our prior agreement as detailed in our returns policy.

Retention of Title

Whether or not delivery has been made, property in the goods does not pass from the company to the customer until full payment is received.

Specifications and Information

Goods are supplied subject to the company's standard specifications and, unless specifically agreed to the contrary, may be manufactured by any of our approved vendors. While we endeavour to publish and supply as much product and application data as possible, the company is unable to assess the viability of every possible application of the goods: It is the customer's duty to ensure that the goods ordered are suitable for the application in which they intend to use them. We endeavour to ensure that all published information is correct but the company shall not be under any liability for any direct, indirect or consequential damage, loss or expense that may be caused as a result of any error or omission in any information either published by or supplied by the company. Lamps designed for operation on UK mains supply is generally shown here as being rated at 240V. Both 230V and 240V versions may be supplied according to availability. Please note that exact colours and finishes are difficult to reproduce accurately on web sites and printed materials and those customers should not place undue reliance upon such reproductions.

Privacy & Data Protection

We respect your right to privacy and ensure that all transactions are made in accordance with our privacy policy. We comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act (1998) and the European Union Data Protection Framework Directives and only store the data necessary for accounting, marketing, sales, public relations and record keeping maintaining and improving the trading relationship between the company and its customers and suppliers. We use "cookies" which are stored on your web browser in order to provide some of the personalised features of our web site: This information may also be used by us to collect information about the usage of our web site. If you do not wish to be identified in this way, you can prevent this by making appropriate settings in your web browser. Complaints

We aim to deal with any complaints in a fair and timely manner. Any complaints should be addressed in writing to the company at the published address or via the web site contact form.

Indemnity

Customers and other users of this web site agree to indemnify the company against any claims, direct, indirect or consequential damage, loss or expense that may be caused as a direct or indirect result of the use of this web site and any information or computer software contained therein or by your access to other web sites as a result of links from this site. We make every effort to ensure that this web site does not contain any computer viruses but cannot guarantee this or warrant that it is virus-free.

Law

All disputes arising out of, or in connection with, any contract between the company and the buyer shall be governed by English Law and the buyer accepts the jurisdiction of the English courts.

Returns policy

Our aim is to provide you with the highest levels of service possible and this extends to our flexible and customer-friendly policies.

Please do not return any items to Direct LED UK without first contacting us by phone, fax or filling in our enquiries form to ask for a returns authorisation number (RAN).

If you wish to return goods for any reason please supply the following information:-

  • Your full contact details.
  • Details of the product(s) that you wish to return.
  • The reason for return.
  • Date of purchase.
  • Our order/invoice number.

No returned goods will be accepted unless authorised by us and the package is marked clearly with the issued RAN.

We will do everything possible to comply with reasonable requests for returns and will issue any refund due to you as promptly as possible.

Returns terms

 

  • If you are a domestic consumer and you are unhappy with the goods for any reason, you have the right to return them within 7 working days of receipt. As long as they are returned suitably packaged in new, unused condition and you pay for the return carriage and insurance; we will replace or refund them as appropriate. Please note that all returns must be received by us within 7 days of us issuing a returns authorisation number.
  • If incorrect or faulty goods are supplied, we will of course replace or refund these, as appropriate, as quickly as possible. We must receive notification of any problems within 7 working days of delivery of your order.
  • If goods are damaged in transit, please keep all documentation and packaging and contact us within 7 days of receipt for returns instructions.
  • If you have ordered goods incorrectly, please contact our sales office to discuss your requirements. Returns of correctly supplied goods must be unused, undamaged, in the original packaging and carriage paid by the customer and may be subject to a re-stocking charge (at our discretion) to cover our expenses. Please note that exchanged items may be subject to re-delivery and administration charges at our discretion: This includes orders which were originally subject to our "free delivery" offer.
  • If you are uncertain as to whether or not you are ordering the correct item, please do not order large quantities. If in doubt, either contact us for advice or order a single item to ensure that it is correct before ordering large quantities. Returns of large quantities may be subject to a re-stocking charge at our discretion.

Delivery Charges

Please note that all prices shown on this web site exclude delivery charges (£4.75 or free for orders over £50 - UK mainland only) and VAT at 20% which must be added to all orders. Some items, particularly long fluorescent tubes, are subject to a higher charge of £8.50 plus VAT per order to cover additional courier costs. Customers are welcome to collect orders in person or specify a particular method of delivery, we can also use customers own courier at customers own cost.

Delivery

Most orders received by noon (Monday to Friday) are usually despatched on the same day and the vast majority within 48 hours of receipt, subject to stock availability. Orders are delivered by the most appropriate method, usually first class post or courier. Orders should generally be delivered within 1 or 2 working days of the despatch date. Please note that Royal Mail post may take up to 15 working days for delivery.
If you require an order to be delivered urgently, please contact us to make the necessary arrangements.

If delivery is delayed excessively, we will always give you the option of purchasing alternative items or of receiving a full refund of any payments that you have made. If we are unable to deliver within 28 days of ordering, we will always give you the option of receiving a full refund of any payments made.

Delivery charges quoted are for UK mainland destinations only using our standard delivery methods. For deliveries over 1.5kg to the Scottish Highlands and Northern Ireland, off-shore destinations and express services, please contact our sales office for a quotation.

Please note that most orders weighing in excess of approximately 1.5 kg and any valuable deliveries are delivered by courier and will require a signature on delivery. Please ensure that you provide a delivery address where someone will be available between 9.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday to accept delivery. If our couriers are unable to deliver an order due to the address being unmanned, a card will be left asking you to contact them directly to arrange re-delivery. If no contact is made within 2 days the order will be returned to us and a re-delivery charge will be levied to cover our re-delivery costs.

The Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA)

This scheme is designed to encourage businesses to invest in low carbon technologies and is run by the Carbon Trust on behalf of DEFRA and the Inland Revenue. The ECA scheme enables businesses to write off 100 % of their first year capital investment in energy saving technologies against their taxable profit for the same period of the investment.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

As a 'producer' of LED products we are fully compliant with the WEEE Directive and are registered on a producer compliance scheme with Recolight. Our WEEE Registration number WEE/

Lamp Recycling Collection Point

We operate an 'Open' Collection point at our Head Office in Warrington, Cheshire. You need to call our office in order to deposit your lamps into our recycling bin. This is generally free of charge and we welcome this service as part of our commitment to the environment. You may want to arrange a visit to our showroom while you are here and see our range of LED lamps and luminaries.
